Reptile Egg Incubation Tracking

If you run incubators, set them up in Scutely so every clutch knows where it lives and your temperature and maintenance records are attached to the right machine.

Setting up an incubator

  1. In the Breeding section, open your incubators.
  2. Create one with a name, its type (forced air, still air, maternal, rack top, or other), and your target temperature and humidity.

Each incubator has a status (active, offline, or maintenance), so you can take one out of rotation without deleting it.

Assigning clutches

When you create a clutch, pick which incubator it goes in. The incubator’s page shows everything currently inside it, so “which tub is in which machine” stops being a memory game. An incubator can’t be deleted while it still holds clutches.

Incubator events

Log against the incubator itself, separate from any one clutch:

  • Readings — temperature and humidity checks
  • Calibration — when you verify it against a trusted thermometer
  • Maintenance and cleaning
  • Alerts — when a reading was out of range
  • Notes for anything else

If a whole season goes sideways, this log is how you figure out whether it was the animals or the machine.
