Care Reminders and Notification Settings

Scutely can nudge you when something needs attention: eggs getting close to hatch, a transfer request waiting, or an animal’s birthday. You choose which, in Settings → Notification Settings.

The Notifications Settings screen with per-type toggles: Eggs Hatching Soon, Laying Expected Soon, Birth Expected Soon, Achievements, Animal Birthdays, and Transfer Requests.

What it can notify you about

  • Care reminders — when scheduled care is coming up or running late. You choose the lead time and late nudge per schedule, and reminders are grouped so a whole rack sends one notification. See Care reminders.
  • Eggs hatching soon — 7, 3, and 1 day before a clutch’s expected hatch date.
  • Laying expected soon — 14, 7, and 3 days before a female’s expected lay date.
  • Birth expected soon — the same lead times, for live-bearers.
  • Transfer requests — when someone sends you an animal.
  • Transfer accepted — when someone accepts a transfer you sent.
  • Animal birthdays — a reminder on each animal’s birthday.
  • Achievements — when you unlock a new one.

Each type has its own toggle, with enable all and disable all shortcuts.

The breeding reminders come from your records (expected hatch dates on clutches and gestation tracking on females), so keeping those up to date keeps the reminders accurate. See Clutches and Breeding groups & events.

Push settings

The same screen controls how notifications behave on your device: push on or off, sound, vibration, and whether unread notifications show a badge count on the app icon.
