Reptile Genetics Calculator
The genetic calculator predicts what a pairing could produce, so you can plan before you put animals together.
How it works
There are two ways to set up a cross:
- From your animals — pick a male and female from your collection, and their traits load automatically.
- Manually — build each parent’s genetics by hand, for pairings you’re only considering.
The calculator works out the possible offspring and the odds of each, based on how the traits inherit. It handles the common inheritance types:
- Recessive × recessive
- Heterozygous crosses — including 66%, 50%, and possible-het forms
- Dominant and incomplete dominant (co-dominant), including supers
- Multi-gene combinations
Each outcome lists its traits visual traits first, het carriers last, so you can read what a baby looks like at a glance.
There’s also a Punnett square view when you want to see how the odds break down, and for possible hets you can preview the outcomes both ways: if the animal proves out, and if it doesn’t.
Using it before you pair
When you’re deciding on a pairing, run the calculator to see what’s possible and how likely each outcome is. It’s a planning tool: the more accurately your animals’ traits are entered, the better the prediction.
